On October 7th, 2025, Bayani Art along with Dr. Remollino, Power Struggle, Kapwa Kollektive, Barangay Dance Company and Mestiza had the honor of being part of a sold-out audience at KQED LIVE in San Francisco for Kapwa: Stories and Food That Connect Us — a special celebration of book talk, community, culture, and connection during Filipino American History Month.
The room was filled with excitement and pride as people from all generations and backgrounds came together to honor our shared heritage. From powerful storytelling to delicious Filipino food, every moment reminded us what kapwa truly means — seeing ourselves in one another and recognizing that our stories are connected.
We heard reflections about migration, family, resilience, and identity. We tasted dishes made with history and love. We shared memories, laughter, and meaningful conversations. Most of all, we felt the strength of our community — here, present, and thriving.
Seeing this event sell out at one of the most respected media institutions in the country was a proud moment for all of us. It showed that Filipino voices, culture, and history continue to rise and take space where they’ve long deserved to be.
Thank you to everyone who joined, supported, and helped make this gathering so special. Thank you to KQED for uplifting Filipino stories, and to all the storytellers, organizers, and chefs who filled the evening with heart and meaning.
As we celebrate Filipino American History Month, this night reminds us how powerful it is when we come together with intention — honoring our roots, sharing our culture, and carrying our stories forward for future generations.
