Bayani Art worked alongside Pin@y Educational Partnerships (PEP) to create a design for their annual community show. This year PEP’s theme is redemption. PEP is a form of education redemption, by reclaiming and sharing the history that was stolen from Filipinos. PEP is a service learning program that serves K-12 students in the San Francisco Unified School District and college students. Volunteer teachers from San Francisco State University and other universities around the Bay Area teach Filipino American studies at five different school sites in SFUSD. The five PEP sites are: Longfellow Elementary School, James Denman Middle School, Philip & Sala Burton High School, Balboa High School, and Skyline College. Community show gives PEP students from each site a chance to show their community what they have been learning for the year. This year their community show was on May 22, 2019 at Longfellow Elementary School. The design was printed and distributed to all the of PEP  teachers and students. Each PEP site was able to display their research for their youth participatory action research. It was great seeing the work PEP does for the community and we look forward to working with PEP more in the future.
