KUMANDER LIWAYWAY

Remedios Guinto Gomez-Paraiso, widely known as Kumander Liwayway, was a prominent figure in the Hukbalahap (Huk) movement during the post-World War II era in the Philippines. A dedicated and courageous commander, she played a significant role in the Huk Rebellion, insurgency that fought against the Japanese occupation. Kumander Liwayway, known for her resilience and leadership, became a symbol of the struggle for land reform, social justice, and the rights of marginalized Filipinos.
