Happy Philippine American History Month! In celebration of FilAm history month and the Chicago Filipino community for our second year, we are humbled and grateful to have been invited to participate at the Kultura Festival 2016. Held at the Emporium, this venue was bright thanks to the entire team of Filipino Kitchen for organizing and making it possible for us to once again share our work with the people of Chicago. It was truly a blessing to be part of this special event filled with amazing energy and good vibes, we are thankful to share it with our community and our team. Kultura is a mix of traditional and modern Filipino food and arts festival presenting over a dozen Filipino American chefs, visual artists, and musicians. As the amazing crew of Filipino Kitchen put together Kultura Festival and aims to highlight the best in modern Filipino-American food, arts, music and culture in Chicago, we just appreciate all the work you put forward to make it all happen. With a special performance by Toronto’s DATU and HATAW, food vendors, Lane Wilkin, Katao: Living Traditions, GM Robert Castro and Joseph Bautista of Eskabo Daan: Filipino Martial Arts, Kristian Kabuhay/Baybayin , DJ’s and Performers, and many more all in one space as one moving forward. We were also granted access to the Archives of Field Museum to see the 10,000+ artifacts from the Philippines. Thank you Field Museum and The Philippines Collection team. There was no better way to cap off the year than to share it with the Team in Chicago. For our second time around we are once again humbled and honored. Special Thank You to Team Filipino Kitchen for everything. From the day we set foot in Chicago to Building and investing heritage through sustainable food And influencing the community to support a healthier, more culturally conscious, and tasty food system. We are honored to have shared this experience in Chicago with EVERYBODY. The Kultura brings it all together, in a celebration of Filipino cuisine and culture. It’s incredible to see so much support from the community. We will be looking forward to connecting with you all in the future.
