On Sunday, June 18th, 2017, Bayani Art celebrated Philippine Independence Day by attending The Kalayaan Festival at Union Square in San Francisco, California. Kalayaan translate into “Independence.” The goal of The Kalayaan Festival is to promote cultural awareness among the diverse community in the Bay area, highlight the positive contributions Filipinos have created in our community, and empower and inspire leaders. Blessed, that we were selected to have design the artwork and shirts design second year in a row. There were many Filipino cultural dance companies, Filipino Martial Arts and Artist performing around Union Square. We also had our Kasama, Kristian Kabuay of Baybayin.com hangout in our table to teach and write the ancient script, Baybayin. Mabuhay.
