APOLINARIO MABINI

Apolinario Mabini, often referred to as the “Brains of the Revolution” and the “Sublime Paralytic,” was a key figure in the Philippine struggle for independence from Spanish and later American rule. Born on July 23, 1864, in Tanauan, Batangas, Mabini was a brilliant lawyer, educator, and political thinker who played a pivotal role in shaping the revolutionary movement. Despite being paralyzed due to polio, his intellectual contributions were immense; he drafted the constitution for the First Philippine Republic and served as the first prime minister and foreign minister of President Emilio Aguinaldo’s revolutionary government. Mabini advocated for social reforms, independence, and self-governance, emphasizing the need for unity and moral integrity among Filipinos.
