On the weekend of September 5th and 6th, Bayani Art went to Delano, California to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Grape Delano Boycott, an event hosted by Filipino American National Historical Society (FANHS) The event was held in the Filipino Community Hall, the original headquarters of the Grape Strike. There were community leaders and activists in panels who talked about their own experiences. A showing of Emmy-award winning documentary Delano Manongs: Forgotten Heroes of the United Farm Workers.  Performances by our friends Power Struggle, Bambu, and other artists. And also a bus tour to show the many historical sites in Delano.

In Oakland and Union City, we and many other members of the community would like to honor these men for what they’ve done to improve the rights of workers everywhere. All our makings for the I am Larry Itliong/Philip Vera Cruz shirts go towards the cause and are available on our online website at www.bayaniart.com
