As an Oakland native, having the opportunity to collaborate with the Oakland Athletics organization is not just a professional milestone but also a deeply personal achievement. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to the organization for entrusting us with the responsibility of creating the artwork for the Filipino Heritage Night event, held at the iconic Oakland Coliseum on August 31st, 2018.
The vision behind the artwork was to create a visual bridge that connected the diverse and vibrant community of Oakland with the rich and colorful culture of the Philippines. Our goal was to showcase the unique beauty of Philippine culture in a way that resonated with both the Filipino community and the wider Oakland population.
The response from the community was overwhelmingly positive and truly inspiring. The event turned into a grand celebration of Filipino culture, with an impressive array of Filipino food, spellbinding performances by Filipino artists, and the presence of influential community leaders who added depth and significance to the occasion.
