La liga Filipina

La Liga Filipina was a progressive organization founded by Dr. José Rizal in 1892 during the Spanish colonial period in the Philippines. It aimed to unite Filipinos across social classes to advocate for peaceful reforms, equal rights, and social justice under colonial rule. The organization sought to promote education, economic self-reliance, and civic responsibility among Filipinos, fostering a sense of national identity and unity. However, its existence was short-lived, as Spanish authorities arrested Rizal shortly after its establishment, leading to its dissolution. Despite this, La Liga Filipina inspired subsequent revolutionary movements, including the Katipunan, which ultimately fought for Philippine independence.
